Mountain Home Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA accredited hospital, and committed to the highest standard of care for each surgical patient. Whether your pet is undergoing a straightforward procedure, such as spay or neuter, or a more complicated operation, be assured that your pet's safety is our highest concern.
Anesthesia and Monitoring Each pet recieves a pre-surgical exam before anesthesia and pre-anesthetic blood work is performed for all patients. This allows us to screen for silent diseases, infections, or blood dyscrasias. Balanced, multi-modal pain control protocols are developed for each individual patient. While your pet is under anesthesia, a technician and computer constantly monitors heart rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, carbon dioxide, and blood oxygen levels. After completion of the procedure, each patient is monitored (while wrapped in a warm blanket) until fully recovered. Each patient also receives an individual post-operative pain control plan.
